A commercial bus driver died Tuesday morning in a fire accident involving his vehicle, -a 14-seater Volkswagen bus and a BRT bus, at Ifako Bridge outward third mainland, in Ogudu area of Lagos.
Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Adeseye Margaret who confirmed the casualty, said the male adult was recovered and handed over to the police from the Ogudu Division.
The BRT bus and its assistant, who were involved in the collision, escaped with minor injuries.
According to her, the incident was reported at half past nine in the morning after the two vehicles collided and a team of Firefighters from the Alausa station were deployed to the scene to combat the blaze.
Adeseye added that the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, and investigations are ongoing.
The remains of the vehicles were cleared off the expressway, and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) was deployed to manage traffic in the area.
