The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed that two men died and six others sustained injuries in the gas tanker explosion that occurred under the Otedola Bridge Tuesday night.
Permanent Secretary (PS) LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed that 12 vehicles, eight tricycles and a building were destroyed by the incident which occured when a truck carrying gas exploded after it fell on its side while negotiating a bend inward Omole.
He said three of the six injured persons suffered severe burns and were moved to the hospital while the other three received immediate medical attention.
He said the fatality has been handed over to the Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU), while victims were receiving medical treatment.
