Lagosians can look forward to more infrastructural projects as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced that the 68km Green Line rail project connecting Marina, Victoria Island, Lekki Free Trade Zone and Ajah will commence this year.
The governor announced this at the commissioning of the newly reconstructed Chief Yesufu Abiodun Oniru/Akiogun Road, an alternative route to the Admiralty Circle Toll Plaza, Lekki, in Eti-Osa Local Government Area.
Sanwo-Olu added that the Green line project will be a ‘game changer’ for the Lekki Epe Axis.
Speaking at the event, the Oniru of Iru Kingdom, Oba Omogbolahan Lawal praised Governor Sanwo-Olu, noting that his achievements in infrastructure had improved the real estate value of the lekki-epe corridor.
Recall Lagos State government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) to fund the project with the federal government set to provide N146.14 billion as counterpart funding.
