Another People’s Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker, Amos Gwamna Magaji, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Magaji, representing Jaba/Zango Kataf Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, is the Chairman of the House Committee on Health Care Services and the Kaduna caucus in the House of Representatives.
He cited unresolved crises within the PDP and becomes the third PDP member to join the APC since the 10th Assembly’s inauguration, following Chris Nkwonta and Eriatheke Ibori-Suenu.
However, Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda opposed the defection, urging the Speaker to declare Magaji’s seat vacant which mandates lawmakers who switch parties without a division in their party to forfeit their seats.
