The new Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, Joseph Eribo has pledged to partner with the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council to eradicate fake Journalists in the State.
The CP, who made the disclosure yesterday during the January edition of the NUJ Ekiti Congress, also promised to provide operational vehicle to the NUJ taskforce for the exercise.
According to the CP, the role and duties of Journalists cannot be overemphasized, stressing that they remain critical stakeholders in nation building.
He seized the opportunity to call on Journalists to collaborate with the command in fighting crime in the State.
Earlier, the NUJ, Chairman, Comrade kayode Babatuyi sought the support of Ekiti State commissioner of Police to check the activities of fake journalists in the state, saying their presence could cause crisis through desemination of fake report
The newly reconstituted members of the Ekiti NUJ Taskforce Committee on Quackery include; Godwin Osubu, Chairman; Alade Niyi, Secretary; Sunkanmi Ogunmuko, Member; Ibiteye Bunmi, Member; and Kolajo Oyeniyi, Member.
