President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, on Monday, commissioned several developmental projects initiated by Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, as part of his first-year anniversary celebrations.
The Vice President, accompanied by All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Umar Ganduje and Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, was warmly received in Lokoja by Governor Ododo, Deputy Governor Joel Oyibo, former governors Yahaya Bello and Idris Wada, as well as other dignitaries.
The projects first commissioned in the state are Zone 8-Zango Daji- Kaduna Junction road (9Km), Zone 8 – Crusher Road (5.5Km).
Other projects include 350-bed hostels for both boys and girls in Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), a Demonstration farm, two faculties in the same university and some Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs) across the state.
Governor Ododo stated that the projects reflect his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and enhancing the welfare of Kogi residents. He also expressed gratitude to his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, for establishing a solid foundation for him to build upon.
Following the commissioning, the Vice President and his entourage engaged in private discussions with state stakeholders at the Government House before attending the main anniversary celebration at Muhammadu Buhari Square.
