An unidentified man has died by electrocution while attempting to vandalise a transformer in the Akute area of Ogun State.
The spokesman for the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident in a statement where she revealed that the deceased climbed into the transformer house and was electrocuted while trying to cut a wire.
Prior to the incident, residents of the community had complained to the police about recurring theft and damage to electrical wires from the transformer.
Odutola added that the deceased’s body has been deposited at the General Hospital in Ifo for autopsy while officials from PHCN were contacted to assess the impact on the transformer.
