The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has raised an alert about the emergence of a new sect, ACHAD Life Mission International, which it claims is neither affiliated with Islam nor Christianity but advocates for the restoration of African traditions.
In a circular signed by Dr. Adedotun Aridegbe, Principal Staff Officer to the Comptroller General, the NIS directed its directorates, commands, and border formations to monitor the sect closely.
The group reportedly has its headquarters in Kaduna, with its leader, identified as Mr. Yokana, residing in Jos, Plateau State.
Intelligence gathered by the NIS suggests that ACHAD Life Mission International is actively recruiting members within and beyond Nigeria. The sect is also suspected of involvement in human trafficking and child separation.
The NIS has urged officers to remain vigilant, report any sightings of the sect, and where necessary, take appropriate enforcement action.
