A Federal High Court in Lagos has issued an arrest warrant for the manager of popular gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu following an application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The EFCC told Justice Alexander Owoeye that the warrant was necessary after failed attempts to arrest Onyedikachukwu, who is accused of diverting approximately $345,000 from Chinwo’s earnings.
According to the commission’s affidavit, Chinwo alleged her manager had been collecting royalties from her digital platforms and events without proper disclosure.
EFCC prosecutor, Bilikisu Buhari indicated that if the arrest warrant proves unsuccessful, the commission would proceed with a public summons to declare the manager wanted.
The case has been adjourned to January 24 for arraignment.
