Authorities of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, have announced the indefinite closure of the institution effective immediately.
According to the school’s Public Relations Officer, Yemi Ajibola, the decision was made to safeguard lives and property following a student protest over management’s verification of National Diploma results from former schools.
Students are also protesting alleged tuition fee hikes and delays in the mobilisation of Higher National Diploma (HND) students for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Ajibola urged students to stay off campus for their safety, assuring parents and the public of timely updates on developments.
The management reiterated its commitment to resolving the issues and ensuring a conducive learning environment upon resumption.
