Former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, met with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo over the weekend in Abeokuta, Ogun State, to deliberate on Nigeria’s political future.
The meeting, held at Obasanjo’s residence within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), also had former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, in attendance.
Kwankwaso disclosed the engagement through a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, describing the discussions as centered on “significant national issues, including the future of politics and governance in Nigeria.”
“I was pleased to be in the company of my friend, HE Donald Duke, and other associates to pay a courtesy call on President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta. Deliberations on significant national issues, including the future of politics and governance in Nigeria, defined the conversation,” Kwankwaso stated.
The NNPP leader expressed gratitude to Obasanjo for his “warm support and hospitality” during the visit, which he described as a valuable exchange of ideas.
