The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has nullified the alleged suspension of Hon. Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu by the Umuopia/Umukegwu Ward Chapter in Imo State.
In a statement released on Saturday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba, the NWC strongly condemned the suspension, asserting that it was unconstitutional and failed to adhere to the party’s established procedures.
“The NWC declares the said purported expulsion as null and void and of no effect, not being consistent with the express provision of Sections 57 (7) and 59 (3) of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017) and laid down Rules of our great Party.
According to Ologunagba, the statement has effectively laid to rest, any assumption that the suspension may be effective or implemented and Party members on Imo State should carry on without giving earlier announcements of a purported suspension of Ugochinyere any attention.
