The Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission has discovered a warehouse allegedly used for rebagging rice palliatives intended for distribution to the less privileged.
According to the commission’s chairman, Barr Muhuyi Magaji, the warehouse located in Hotoro Western Bye-pass housed the 28 trucks of rice palliatives provided by the Federal Government.
He said the grain was suspected to have been diverted to repackage and sell them in the open market.
He further disclosed that one suspect has been arrested in connection with the case while investigations are ongoing to identify and prosecute all those involved.
The commission urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities involving government relief materials.
