The former governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu has been released from the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.
Adebutu’s media aide, Afolabi Orekoya, confirmed the release to Journalist early Tuesday morning.
Recall Adebutu’s arrest was initially confirmed by Kayode Adebayo, the PDP Publicity Secretary in Ogun State, on Monday.
Adebayo stated that Adebutu was invited for questioning concerning alleged disturbances during the local government elections held on November 16, 2024, in which the All Progressives Congress, APC, won all seats.
Adebutu, who was the PDP’s governorship candidate in 2023, faced accusations of deploying illegal police officers to incite violence during the elections in the Iperu area of the state.
