The Nigeria Police Force, led by Inspector-General Kayode Egbetokun, has announced the arrest of 1,246 suspects involved in various crimes, such as armed robbery, kidnapping, and murder, and the recovery of 3,172 rounds of ammunition and 210 firearms.
According to Force Spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the other major breakthrough recorded by the Police was the arrest of Jubril Musa, an arms dealer operating in Plateau State, who reportedly supplied weapons to bandits.
Musa was found in possession of a cache of firearms and ammunition and is now cooperating with police investigations.
The police also rescued 64 kidnapping victims and recovered 118 stolen vehicles nationwide.
The IGP, Egbetokun reiterated the Force’s commitment to public safety through tactical operations, intelligence-led policing, and community engagement strategies.
He said the Police remains dedicated to reducing crime and ensuring a safer country for all.
