Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended the amnesty period for property owners and developers without proper building approvals until December 31 this year.
The extension, which allows more time for individuals to regularize their properties without facing penalties, was announced at the Lagos State Physical Planning Summit following high demand after the initial deadline of October 31.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, who acknowledged the efforts of former Lagos governors, President Bola Tinubu and Babatunde Raji-Fashola, in setting up a master plan for Lagos, advised town planners and stakeholders in the building sector to follow all stipulated regulations in the state.
To apply for the amnesty, applicants must submit required documents, including proof of ownership, survey plans, architectural and structural drawings, among others, at the district offices of the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) across the 57 local government areas and local council development areas, or at the LASPPPA headquarters in Ikeja.
