The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano State has suspended the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Baffa Bichi and the Commissioner for Transport, Muhammad Diggo, citing abuse of power and disloyalty.
The suspension, confirmed by state party chairman Hashimu Dungurawa on Monday, followed petitions from party leaders in Bichi North, where both officials hail from.
Director-General of Information of the Party, Sanusi Bature, stated that the officials had been undermining party leadership, and their suspension was deemed inevitable.
This action comes despite efforts by Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf to mediate between the party and the suspended officials in hopes of resolving internal conflicts.
