The Oyo State House of Assembly has appealed to the state government to put measures in place towards installing GPS (Global Positioning System) tracking devices on security patrol vehicles donated to the various security agencies.
This is to monitor the locations and movements of all patrol vehicles at any time of the day to enhance service delivery and safety of officers as well as ensure quick responses.
The call was contained in a motion read on the floor of the House on Thursday by the member representing Ibadan North West State Constituency, Hon. Dawood Olalere, and co-sponsored by the leader of the House, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin.
According to the motion, there is also the need for more patrol vehicles to be deployed at night when most crimes are usually being committed, and this will make it difficult for criminals to have their way.
