
Rhoda Gumus, the National Commissioner for the Edo State gubernatorial election under INEC, has pledged to resist any form of bribery during the election.
She pledged while Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, saying, “I am in charge of Edo. I cannot take bribes, no matter how much.”
Gumus added “Since the process began, I have been in constant communication with the Electoral Officers. I monitor everything closely and correct any issues as they arise.”
She warned that no one should attempt to influence her decisions.
Gumus reputation and role in the polls have equally bee called to question by member of the opposition.
Recall Gumus was appointed by Former President, Muhammadu Buhari and confirmed by the Senate despite claims that she was a card-carrying member of the All Progressives Congress.
