The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned two women, Ujunwa Una and Chinelo Igbechionwu, for attempting to sell newborn twins.
According to Police Spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, they were apprehended at Berger bus-stop by Ojodu Division patrol officers, following a tip-off from a Good Samaritan.
They were found with two six-day-old baby girls, allegedly sold by their mother, traveling from Abia State on September 9, 2024.
The suspects confessed to being paid ₦150,000 to transport the babies to a nurse in Lagos.
SP Hundeyin said the case is now with the Gender Unit while investigations continue.
