The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has ruled out a claim that other persons asides the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) were importing fuel into the country.
NMDPRA, Head of Public Affairs, George Ita-Ene, said to the best of its knowledge, the national oil company remains the sole importer of the product.
This clarification comes after reports suggested three other marketers had begun importing fuel.
Meanwhile, IPMAN President, Abubakar Maigandi says the group is yet to take a decision on oil markets as there has been no price changes from NNPCL, despite Dangote’s entry into petrol production.
He said the group would continue to hold on to Aliko Dangote’s earlier promise to partner with IPMAN.
