The former Vice-President and Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the last 2023 general elections, Atiku Abubakar on Sunday donated N100 million to the government of Borno State to cushion the current hardship faced by victims of the recent flood disaster in the state.
While at the Government House, Maiduguri, Atiku extended his heartfelt condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum, the government and the people of the state, especially those who lost their beloved ones.
The former vice president also urged more support from organisations and philanthropists to the government and people of Borno to facilitate recovery.
In response, Zulum thanked the former Vice President for his thoughtfulness and gesture.
The unfortunate flood disaster has reportedly displaced two million people with several others killed and property worth billions of naira submerged.
