Ekiti state Governor has asked members of the State House of Assembly to engage stakeholders, including communities, experts, and government bodies, in their activities to shape the future of the state and improve residents’ lives.
Oyebanji, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Habitat Adubiaro, gave the charge at Ikogosi Ekiti on Saturday during a one-day retreat, with the theme, “Legislating and oversight in a challenging time”, organised for members of the legislative body.
The governor said: “Our legislative body must actively engage with stakeholders, including community members, experts and other governmental bodies. We must ensure we work effectively with executive agencies to ensure that oversight is constructive.
Speaker of the Ekiti House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, who said that the retreat was to further equip the lawmakers in their legislative and oversight functions, promised more robust and effective representation and oversight by the legislators in the challenging period.
