The Lagos State Government says it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Chinese company; CCECC to build the Lekki-Epe Link Bridge in the Lekki-Epe axis.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who shared the news on social media, said the MoU, underscores government’s commitment to key road networks, reduce traffic congestion and create a seamless commuting experience, all while supporting economic growth.
The governor also signed another MoU to implement solar power systems across key educational institutions, to significantly reduce the institutions’ reliance on grid electricity and fossil fuels, thus contributing to environmental sustainability.
The project, according to the Governor is aimed at generating about 50 megawatts (MW) of cleaner and more affordable electricity, which will see the installation of solar power systems at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Lagos State University of Education, and Lagos State College of Medicine.
