The Nigerian Police have declared British national, Andrew Wynne wanted for allegedly attempting to overthrow President Bola Tinubu by sponsoring the #EndBadgovernance protests that occurred from August 1st to 10th.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, Wynne, who has since fled the country, and his local coordinator, Lucky Ehis Obiyan, are the subjects of a global manhunt.
Wynne is accused of orchestrating and funding violent protests, spreading false information, and plotting to destabilize the Nigerian government.
Adejobi said, “Investigations have identified a foreign mercenary, Andrew Wynne (also known as Andrew Povich or Drew Povey), a British national, who built a network of sleeper cells to topple the government and plunge the nation into chaos.
“He rented a space at Labour House, Abuja, for an ‘Iva Valley Bookshop’ and established ‘STARS of Nations Schools’ as a cover for his subversive activities.
“Documentary evidence and confessions revealed that Andrew Wynne issued directives, monitored progress, and provided finance and operational guidance to achieve unconstitutional regime change in Nigeria.
He said 10 suspects have already been apprehended in connection with the case, with charges including terrorism financing, treasonable felony, and cybercrime.
