Lagos state government says it will continue to clampdown on nefarious activities by criminal elements who use public infrastructure like pedestrian bridges and others as hideouts to perpetrate crime.
Commissioner of environment and water resources, Tokunbo Wahab in a post on X said this today, stating that coordinated surveillance was carried out to checkmate the menace of miscreants and nuisance caused by destitute across Ikoyi, VI and Lekki-Ajah corridor.
According to him, 3 ex-convicts, 1 internet stalker, plus 17 other Suspected miscreants and persons dealing in the illegal sale of petroleum products along the roads were arrested during the operation.
Wahab also explained that substances suspected to be Indian hemp and Jerry Cans/gallons of fuel were recovered, assuring that suspects will be arraigned in court accordingly.
