Many passengers were injured on Tuesday night in an accident involving two BRT buses at the Pleasure area of Iyana Ipaja, Lagos State.
The accident occurred when a BRT bus, headed towards Iyana Ipaja, tried to avoid hitting a commercial motorcyclist illegally plying the BRT corridor and collided with an oncoming BRT bus.
The injured passengers were taken to nearby hospitals before the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Response Team arrived.
LASEMA spokesman Nosa Okunbor confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, adding that no lives were lost, but passengers from both buses sustained various injuries.
He mentioned that LASEMA’s Dolphin Response Team was activated following distress calls.
Two tow trucks were deployed to clear the accident site, and the recovery operation was successfully concluded.
