Following weeks of Ukrainian incursion, Russia has retaliated with a series of massive missile and drone attacks targeting Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv.
The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday, was confirmed in a statement by the head of Kyiv’s military administration, Serhiy Popko.
Vowing retaliation, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s Chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, said Russia would pay dearly for the attacks.
But later on Monday evening, Zelensky issued an update saying that more than 100 missiles and about 100 attack drones were launched by Russia overnight and targeted at “critical civilian infrastructure” in most of Ukraine’s regions including Kharkiv, Kyiv, Odesa and western areas.
According to credible sources, at least three people, including a British national working in Ukraine as a safety advisor for a news agency, Ryan Evans, have been killed in the attack.
