Workers in Nigerian telecommunications and electricity sectors have threatened to shut down the National grid, and telecom services at midnight today if the President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero is arrested by the Nigeria Police Force.
This was contained in separate notices by the General Secretaries of the National Union of Electricity Employees NUEE and the National Union of Postal and Telecommunications Employees. NUPTE
The threat came after the police in a letter summoned the NLC president Joe Ajaero for questioning on over an alleged link to terrorism financing and other allegations.
Recall that on June 3, the National grid was shut down as a blackout hit Nigeria after workers commenced an indefinite strike.
