The Kano State government has revealed that documents related to the corruption trial of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje were stolen during a recent invasion of the State High Court.
The incident occurred during the End bad Governance protest, where hoodlums vandalized and looted the court.
This was disclosed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who during a visit to the court described the vandalization as a deliberate act to sabotage the ongoing corruption cases against Ganduje, his family, and aides.
The governor was accompanied by the Attorney General, the Chief Registrar, and other judicial officials.
The damages, estimated at over N1 billion, include the destruction of offices, burning of vehicles, and theft of crucial documents.
Governor Yusuf urged Kano’s youth to avoid violence and focus on skill development, assuring them that the government is committed to protecting lives and property.
