President Bola Tinubu has appealed to Nigerians to shelve a planned ‘EndBadGovernance’ protest slated for next month.
Information Minister Mohammed Idris, who briefed selected State House correspondents after a meeting with the President today, said Tinubu urged the organisers of the protest to shelve the plan and await the President’s response to their complaints.
Earlier, the Nigerian Police Force has warned against the planned demonstration, noting that criminal elements may hijack the protest, foment trouble.
The NPF the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, also stated that President Bola Tinubu is set to commission the newly built Nigeria Police National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja, tomorrow.
The protest against economic hardship, which is gaining traction on social media, has been scheduled to be held across all states of the Federation as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, in August.
