FG TO KEEP FIRST ANNIVERSARY LOW KEY

The Federal Government has said it would keep the first year anniversary of President Bola Tinubu in office measured and restrained .
Speaking at a World Press Conference to unveil activities -including Ministerial briefings lined up for the event, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris disclosed that government would keep the anniversary ceremonies low-key to cut costs.
When the Federal Government steps out to mark the first year anniversary of President Bola Tinubu in office-it would do so reserved and measured.
Ahead of May 29 when Tinubu’s administration would have turned full circle for the first year, the Minister of Information & National Orientation, Mohammed Idris intact told this World Press Conference that there won’t be any celebrations.
According to Idris-government would prefer to keep the event low -key to cutdown on cost.
In the next three days, government hopes to engage the media with a sectoral scorecard of President Bola Tinubu in the last one year, and this event is just to set the tone.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume makes a strong defence for fuel subsidy removal, adding that Tinubu is setting Nigeria on the path of prosperity which is already showing in giant strides in virtually all the sectors of the economy.
Nigeria’s Minister of Budget & National Planning, Atiku Bagudu was also at hand to provide explanations to the country’s economic outlook, stressing that with Tinubu in charge, emphasis has been on restoring macro economic stability and attract investors.
Bagudu said although the level of inflation is still high, he says government hopes to mitigate the effects through various social safety nets and job creation initiatives.
Tinubu is the 16th executive President of Nigeria.
