The House of Representatives has asked the Federal Government expedite investigation of the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu and ensure quick resumption of social investment programmes.
This followed a motion by lawmaker, Billy Osawaru who argued that halting the programme at a time of increasing hunger and inflation, is not good for the country.
The House also concurred with Osawaru’s position that faulted the idea that the programme be managed by Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, urging President Bola Tinubu to direct a Minister of State to implement the programme in the interim.
President Tinubu had suspended Edu and ordered her investigation over alleged mismanagement of N585m meant for the palliative programme.
