The family of the late Former Group CEO of Access Holdings, Herbert Wigwe has announced funeral arrangements for Wigwe, his wife Chizoba, and son Chizi, who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in the United States last month.
The 6-day funeral activities will begin on March 4th with a celebration of Wigwe’s professional legacy at Eko Hotel in Lagos.
Separate memorial services for Chizoba and Chizi will be held on March 5th at Eko Hotels, followed by a night of tributes on March 6th.
A funeral service is scheduled for March 9th at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Isiokpo, Rivers State, where the Wigwe family will be laid to rest.
Notably absent from the program is the RCCG City of David Parish, where Wigwe was a prominent member and major donor.
The parish’s head pastor and wife, the Iluyomades drew criticism earlier this month for holding an extravagant 60th birthday celebration only a week after the crash, rather than postponing festivities out of respect for the Wigwe family.
While the Iluyomades have not commented publicly, their actions have reportedly created tension within the RCCG hierarchy.
