Ekiti state governor, Biodun Oyebanji says the government cannot hold the people accountable for a hygienic and eco friendly environment if it fails to lead by example by providing necessary facilities and equipment to aid the cleanliness of the public spaces.
Oyebanji said this while inspecting the Dino Bin, a product of partnership with the Lagos state government, to provide solid waste bins in the state metropolis, serving as a means to end indiscriminate waste disposal which can breed diseases and outbreaks.
The Governor noted that the state has a responsibility to the people and his government is more than prepared to meet the demands of governance, including providing basic amenities.
Oyebanji however warned the public against flouting environmental laws, warning that culprits will face the full weight of the law without prejudice or apology.
