Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has signed a bill into law for the creation of three new Local Council Development Areas.
The LCDAs earlier approved by the House of Assembly brings the total number of Local governments and Council Development Areas in the state to 38.
The governor on Friday also signed into law five other bills passed by the State House of Assembly.
They include; Ekiti State Audit Service Commission (Second Amendment) Law, 2022,Ekiti knowledge Zone Authority Law, 2022 enacted to provide enabling environment for investors and Ekiti State Economic Development Council (First Amendment) Law, 2022.
Others are Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan Ekiti Law, 2022 and Ekiti State Legislative Fund Management (Re: Enactment Law, 2022) which the governor said was in accordance with the separation of powers
Speaking after after signing the bills to law at Exco’s chamber, Governor’s office in Ado, he said that the laws would enhance the living standard of Ekiti people and as well strengthen good governance.
The Governor assured the gathering that the incoming administration will continue to promote harmonious relationship among executive and the legislative arms
In his remarks, the Speaker, of the state house of Assembly, Funminiyi Afuye commended governor Fayemi for his outstanding achievements within the last four years.
