The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended re-run elections in Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency, Akwa Ibom State, Enugu South 1 State Constituency, Enugu and Kunchi/Tsanyawa State Constituency, Kano State.

A statement by National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun noted that the election in Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency was suspended after hoodlums carted away election materials in two polling units in the two councils that make up the Constitutency.

A similar disruption occurred in all ten Polling Units in Kunchi Council area in Kano.

The polls in Enugu South 1 State Constituency, Enugu were suspended as the original results sheets were not available for inspection by voters before the commencement of polls.

INEC urged security agencies to investigate the incidents while it takes further decisions in the affected constituencies.
