The organized labour has described the order of the national industrial court restraining it from embarking on industrial action as a night market judgement and says it weighed its option before deciding to proceed on strike.
This position was echoed by spokesman of the Nigeria labour congress (NLC) in Lagos, Isola Adejumo who confirmed the compliance of workers in Lagos state to the strike order.
He said the members weighed their options, decided on the strike and were ready to accept responsibility for their actions.
Recall the NLC and trade union congress (TUC) and its affiliates including the academic staff union of universities (ASUU), proceeded on strike today following the brutalization of the NLC president, joe Ajaero, in Imo state on the 1st of November.
At the time of filing this report, labour leaders were expected to meet the federal government delegation to be led by minister of labour, Simon Lalong to resolve the issues.
