The United States President Joe Biden has voiced support for a humanitarian pause to Israel’s war in gaza as the United States presses to evacuate all Americans trapped in the besieged Palestinian enclave.
According to Biden, a ceasefire will allow trapped people, foreigners route to safety and relief materials get into needed areas to alleviate the sufferings of those affected.
His remarks marked a shift in the position of the white house, which has previously said it would not dictate how Israel conducts its military operations.
Meanwhile, commissioner general, UN Relief and works agency Philipe Lazzarini expressed dismay at the level of damage and pain the war has inflicted on vulnerable residents, appealing for considerations along diplomatic lines.
