The Peoples democratic party in Ondo state has accused the ruling all-progressive congress and governor Rotimi Akeredolu of using state might to witch-hunt and suppress opinions and rights of residents.
In a statement by publicity secretary of the party in the state, Kennedy Peretei, operatives of the department of state services (DSS) and some policemen stormed the secretariat this morning to stop youths from protesting the perceived absence of governor Akeredolu in governing the state.
According to him, the operatives disallowed placard-carrying youths from proceeding on their protest which he described as a suppression of citizens’ rights to protest.
Peretei, however called on the inspector general of police to intervene in the affairs of the state before it goes out of hand.
The all-progressive congress is yet to make a statement on the development.
