Vice President Kashim Shettima is en route to Beijing, China, to represent President Bola Tinubu at the 3rd Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Forum, scheduled from October 16 to 18.
This information was conveyed in a statement by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice President.
During the forum, Shettima will collaborate with leaders from more than 130 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America to discuss the theme of “High-Quality Belt and Road Cooperation: Together for Common Development and Prosperity.”
Nkwocha also emphasized that the Vice President will engage in bilateral meetings with global leaders to advance Nigeria’s trade and investment relations, aligning with the economic development goals of the Tinubu administration. Additionally, Shettima is expected to spotlight the agrifood sector reforms underway in Nigeria under the leadership of President Tinubu.
