
Lagos state government has decried the rising number of sight deficiency in the state, describing it as a cause of concern that must be speedily addressed.
The permanent secretary state ministry of health, Olusegun Ogboye said this today at the ceremony to commemorate this year’s world sight day, noting that the increase in eye deficiency can be contained through proper hygienic practises, frequent eye check among other practises.
According to him, employers should make eye health initiatives standard practice and promote eye health habits that will benefit the well-being, safety and productivity of millions of employees.
World Sight Day is celebrated on 12th October with this year’s focus on the importance of eye care in the workplace.
