Illegal miners in the country have to get ready for extremely tough times by changing their ways as the minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake has issued a stern warning to deal with them.
He made the declaration at the graduation ceremony and presentation of starter packs to batch 3 graduates of the ministry’s programme on gemstone and jewellery master training and empowerment.
Alake who said the illegal miners, regardless of who their sponsors are would be delt with, said the ministry is working closely with security agencies with a view to designing a very solid and enduring formula for combating illegal mining and illegal exploitation of all critical minerals in this country.
The minister said in due course, details would be unfolded to the public, adding that he was using the opportunity to send a strong warning to those currently engaged in illegal mining in Nigeria that henceforth, it will no longer be business as usual.
