Plateau North Senator Named Minority leader as Labour Party, NNPP Share Minority Whip Positions

President of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio has named Mwadkwon Davou from Plateau North as Minority Leader.

Akpabio read the names when the lawmakers reconvened from the closed-door session.

He also named Osun West lawmaker, Kamorudeen Olarere (PDP Osun West) as Deputy Minority Leader.

Labour Party Darlington Nwokeocha (Abia Central) was also named Minority Whip, while Rufai Hanga (NNPP Kano Central was announced as the Deputy Minority Whip.

Some media outlets (not Veonewsng) had claimed that the opposition had settled for former Governor of Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwal as Minority leader but faced opposition from Senator Agom Jarigbe who had the support of former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.
