European Leaders Agree to Restrain China’s Economic Strengths

European Union leaders have agreed a pact to reduce economic reliance on China.

At the conclusion of a two-day summit in Brussels today, the bloc leaders in a joint statement vowed to pursue a mutually beneficial economic relationship with Beijing that would continue to reduce critical dependencies and vulnerabilities.

In his remarks, German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz said  the bloc was striving to prevent strategic dependencies would hold them to ransom.

EU bloc members also called on China to press Russia to end the Ukraine conflict.
