The former Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor has urged Nigerians to avoid acts that can undermine the Nigerian military, saying that the military stands as a beacon of hope, unity and stability that must be protected.
He also wants citizens of the country to know that providing security for a diverse country like Nigeria is not an easy task but not an impossible one to achieve.
Irabor made the submissions as part of his valedictory speech during the pulling-out ceremony organised for him at the Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja on Friday.
While noting that he is leaving the military better than he met it, Irabor expressed optimism in the ability of his successor to beat the records set so far in the armed forces.
