A bloc in Peoples Democratic Party, identified as Concerned PDP League, has denounced attempts by the party to present former Governor of Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwal, as Senate Minority Leader.
The Chairman of the group, Daboikiabo Warmate said the group was opposed to Tambuwal, having defected as a Speaker of the House of Representatives from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress.
Warmate said that instead of Tambuwal, the position should rather be zoned to a state in the North-Central, precisely Plateau State.
While insisting that Tambuwal cannot be trusted the second time, Warmate also appealed for a midterm convention to be followed by the dissolution of the National Working Committee of the party to make room for fresh ideas.
