There’s confusion rocking the downstream sector of Nigeria’s petroleum industry as an unsigned list has put the price of petrol at between N488 and N550.
A document sighted by Veonews put petrol price in Lagos at N488.
The price of the product in Abuja, Kano, Oyo and Kebbi sold at N537, N540, N500 and N540 respectively.
The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA, is yet to confirm the document.
However, Veonewsng confirmed some NNPC stations in Lagos had resumed selling fuel at N488 per litre.
Earlier, in a chat with Member of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) Board, Engr Michael Oluwagbemi had hinted that a new price regime would be published within the week to show the real market cost of petrol.
He argued that the President, Bola Tinubu was right to have announced the removal of fuel subsidy instantly, using his political capital which was at the peak at this time.
